You could use a graph to solve this problem, but as that's a too much of a hassle. I'll show you the algebraic solution.
For the first equation:
3x + 2 > -1
3x > -3
x > -1
For the second equation:
2x - 1 < 5
2x < 6
x < 3
Here you have the solution to these equations. It's all values of x where x is smaller than 3 and greater than -1.
-1 < x < 3 or in interval notation: (-1, 3)
